Here you see last night’s attention-getting, nearly full moon rising over Naskeag Harbor. Below, ypu’ll see her climbing up behind Great Cove’s spruce-covered ridge and, finally, in all her cratered glory as she escapes our atmosphere and seems to sail alone over the Cove.
August’s full Sturgeon Moon is due August 28, when the views might even be better if the sky is clear. Or, when we might see nothing but clouds and fog. I decided to hedge my bet. (Images taken in Brooklin, Maine, on August 27, 2026)
